Awash in neutral colors with occasional bursts of primary colors, and Asian inspired artifacts adorning the walls, Great Sage doesn't seem like the type of place where you'd get a seitan philly cheesesteak, nor the type of place where you'd hear a jazz band once a week. Located in Clarksville's "Conscious Corner," a collection of eco-friendly and socially conscious businesses, Great Sage has, in five short years, a destination for unpretentious and tasty vegetarian cooking.
With this reputation in mind, and and empty stomach, I started out with a tostada, piled high with black beans, brown rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and guacamole. The tortilla retained its crunch throughout, and there was a nice spice to the beans, but it lacked salt. Overall, it was just okay, and for $10, it's much too expensive.
