Hot Sauce Williams is a long established Cleveland classic soul food spot. It caught the attention of Anthony Bourdain who took Iron Chef Michael Symon along for the ride. They feasted on the Hot Sauce Williams Polish Boy. It consists of a piece of kielbasa sausage placed in a bun, and covered with a layer of french fries, a layer of barbecue sauce or hot sauce, and a layer of coleslaw. While the sausage is typically grilled, some establishments will quickly deep fry the sausage after grilling and prior to assembling the sandwich.
Good friend of mine and contributing writer Kevin Jones reminds me that I have probably tasted the food from the carryout years ago. He says, "Its a local chain of carry-out barbque places. I go there for wings. They are pretty good. The peach cobbler is good too. There is a sit-down location on Carnegie which is okay. Its not quite fine dining."
