Curry Beef Satay

Recipe by Contributor Chef Jay Jones: Nothing is better then home made. Here is a dish that is sure easy to make plus I have added a recipe to make your own curry powder for that super fresh taste.

Curry can be spicy for some you can add the powder to some milk or cream and then add your items to that mixture and cook. The dairy will bring down the heat.

Ingredients
1 lb beef stir fry strips
½ cup Homemade Curry Powder
1 cup Vegetable Oil

Equipment
Wooden Skewers
Large Sheet pan
Zippered freezer bag


Preheating: Preheat oven to 375°

Preparation
4 tbsp Coriander
3 tsp cumin
2 tbsp allspice
3 tsp mustard seed
4 tsp crushed red pepper
2 tbsp coriander
2 tbsp turmeric
1 tbsp garlic
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves

Preparation
Add all ingredients to a spice grinder
Pulse until a powder forms
Put in air tight container

For Service
Arrange on platter and serve

Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 min before cooking
Combine beef strips and curry in zippered freezer bag
Marinade for at least 5 hours overnight if possible
Remove meat from bag
Put one piece of meat on presoaked skewers
Rub oil on sheet tray
Place skewered meat on sheet tray
Place in oven turning in 3 min then cook other side
