Barranquilla's 2012 Carnival, one of Colombia's most important events of the year, takes place from Saturday through Tuesday. This schedule should make sure you don't miss a thing.

Mardi Gras, "Fat Tuesday", is the last day of the Carnival season as it always falls the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Most visitors will plan to arrive no later than Saturday, February 18, 2012 in order to enjoy an extended weekend of festivities.

Annapolis’s Winter Restaurant Week kicks of February 20, 2012 and lasts through February 26, 2012.Presented by the Annapolis Business Association, the fourth annual event is the largest ever. The 2012 cold weather edition will feature 41 participating restaurants all serving two-course lunches for $15.95 and three-course dinners for $32.95. Select restaurants will be offering two-course breakfast menus for $12.95.

Sydney's Chinese New Year Festival is billed as "the largest celebration of the Lunar New Year outside Asia." The 2009 event - whose ambassador was Jackie Chan-- drew over 600,000 weekends over three weekends. 2010 festivities for the Year of the Tiger will take place between 12 February and 28 February 2010.

On Saturday, February 11, 2012 starting at 5:15 PM, Over 100 units will participate in the Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade. A San Francisco tradition since just after the Gold Rush, the parade continues to delight and entertain the many hundreds of thousands of people that come to watch it on the street.
