Cookbook Review: French Classics Made Easy

Written by Crystal Johnson

French_Classics_Made_EasyFor many the mere idea of French cooking does not include the word "easy" in the sentence but author RIchard Grausman is determined to illustrate that it can be in his new book, French Classics Made Easy.

Grausman is a reknown Chef and teacher, the first culinary exclusive U.S.representative of the Le Cordon Bleu  in Paris.  He is the founder and president of the non-profit Careers through Culinary Arts Program otherwise known as C-CAP.  The program he founded was the center  of attention in the hit documentary, Pressure Cooker.

The idea of a dessert book that shows you the perfect way to add designer details to classic confections is truly inspired.”

The Culinary Scoop-Singer Sheryl Crow and Chef Chuck White joined forces to create "If It Makes You Healthy," a cookbook filled with good food and family memories. The hardback consists of more than 100 recipes that include an assortment of herbs, organic fruits and veggies, and fresh fish–just to name a few. In addition, White takes traditional favorites and makes them healthier like the Grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwiches with Roma Tomato Soup Shooters with its three cheeses–sharp cheddar, smoked Gouda, and Colby Jack (page 30).

Egyptian Soups Hot and Cold

Written by Crystal Johnson

Recently a girlfriend of mine came back from a missions trip to Egypt.  She is an avid cook and loves to buy cookbooks.  She makes cakes, amish bread, and cookies from scratch.  The latest edition to her cookbook family is a book called Egyptian Soups Hot and Cold written by John Feeney. Every page is a snapshot bursting vibrant color and featuring recips such as cream of guava and ginger soup. No drab white pages in this book.
