Ingredients
1 can (16 oz.) crushed pineapple
2 cans (20 oz.) cherry pie filling
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
2 sticks of melted butter
Optionally, you may add a 1/2 cup of crushed nuts.
Preparation
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and dump the contents of your can of crushed pineapples (You don't have to drain the juice from the pineapples)
Next dump the contents of your can of cherry pie filling then spread the pineapple and cherries evenly throughout your pan. You never mix the contents.
Pour your package of yellow cake mix on top of the cherry and pineapple, making sure it is covering from edge to edge.
If you are adding nuts, dump the crushed nuts over the yellow cake mix, also spreading evenly.
Your last ingredient to dump is the 2 sticks of melted butter. Pour this evenly over the pan's contents.
Finally, place your dump cake in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour.
Take out of the oven and let it cool and spoon out the dump cake. This is a great dessert to serve with ice cream. It's mmmmh, mmmmh good!
