What makes the Jarritos brand successful? The secret is in providing a wide range a flavors rarely duplicated by major soda companies. The flavors reflect fruits common among Latin and Caribbean communities. Recently, Jarritos asked me to review their flavors. I grabbed MCCN's Eduardo Zamora(Spanish Content Mgr) who doesn't really drink soda but has been exposed to the brand in his household. I also limit my soda intake but if you are going to indulge in soda drinking then why not know what tastes good. Overall, the sodas all have a pleasant taste;however, these are judged according to if the soda flavor truly embodies the fruit flavor and if it stands out among the rest.
Flavors:
Tamarind: We agreed that the flavor is played safe. It could use stronger flavors which remind one of tamarind.
Guava: Good, true to the guava fruit flavor. This flavor is a winner.
Lime: We felt that flavor should reflect more sour notes. It is more reminiscent of lemon than lime because of the lack of an acute or even minor sour flavor.
Strawberry: It is pleasant and on the sweeter side in flavor.
Mango: Nothing offensive but could punch up the mango flavor.
Lima/Limon: This is what I was looking for in the lime but the lime lacked the sour taste.
Jamaica: The taste is faint.
Pineapple/Piña: It has a good rich pineapple taste, tropical treat.
