MCCN Catches up with Auntie Anne's founder Anne Beiler

Okay, seriously...who hasn't gone to the mall and experienced the hypnotizing fragrance of the buttery fresh Auntie Anne's pretzels? They get you every timedon't they? Well, recently MCCN caught up with Auntie Anne founder, Anne Beiler, at a conference at Sandy Cove Ministries.

Beiler grew up in Lancaster in the Amish and Mennonite culture. She can thank her mother and her allergies for her love of baking. While her seven siblings were out working on the farm, her mother kept her inside because of her allergies. It was there in the kitchen where her love of baking began. She prefers baking over cooking. We're not surprised!

With only an eighth education, no business plan, and no capital, Beiler calls Auntie Anne's a modern day business miracle. At the time, Beiler did not look at what she didn't have. She looked at what she did have. She had a purpose, a product and people. The rest is modern day business miracle history. A woman of Christian faith, she says the enemy wanted her to whine and complain about what she didn't have but God made her to be able to focus on what she had, saying "All things are possible to those that believe and those who work hard." Beiler's story is chronicled in her book Twist of Faith.

Foodie Fun Fact: Anne Beiler's favorite meal from her Amish and Mennonite cultural background is roast beef, mashed potatoes and sweet corn.
