Catrina Sally (MCCN): Thank you for taking some time to speak with us. You have a new film project coming out called Abduction. Could you describe your character to us?
Denzel Whitaker: My character and Taylor Lautner’s character have been best friends since childhood. Our relationship spawns the action of the story. His character is looking for people he can trust and I’m one of the very few he can trust in his time of need. I am the best friend that helps him out in his time of need.
Catrina: You’ve been in different genres of film and television projects which ones are your favorite?
Denzel: Drama films and action films. With action films it’s getting to do practical stunts and seeing the action unfold. Comedy but it depends on the type of comedy.
Catrina: Aside from acting, you have an interest in screenwriting, animation, and directing Do you have any advice for young people wanting to get into the entertainment business?
Denzel: Persistence is definitely the key in this business. Imagination and creativity is a loss art that dies with age. You should be able to tap into your inner child because that’s when we are more free. Let your mind roam, that’s where you find most of your imaginative ideas
Catrina: As a food network, we simply must know what’s your favorite comfort food?
Denzel: Seafood. A salmon dinner... There’s nothing more heavenly to me then a well cooked salmon. I live in a house full of desserts, but I love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Catrina: Anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Denzel: I’ve started directing music videos. I’ve worked with Mononoke Entertainment. I’ve directed “Low Wound” by BikeLock and “You Ruined This” by The Audition. Be on the lookout for more projects!
Catrina: Thank you, Denzel for taking time to share with our readers!
MCCN will be keeping up with Denzel. You can too! Keep up with his Facebook and Twitter accounts.
