Lucy Liu helped to change the face of the beloved Charlie Angels.  The kick butt band of women made their mark in the 1970's when every little girl wanted to be either Jill, Sabrina or Kelly. In the early 2000's producer and star of the Charlie's Angels reboot, Drew Barrymore originally had Thandie Newton among the consideration but she became pregnant.  Lucy Liu was cast and fit like a glove for the new face of the Angels.

Now Barrymore steps aside as an angel but keeps her producer hat to launch a new decade Angels back where they started, on TV. They are a host of somewhat to very familiar faces.

The group of Charlie's angel's consists of a blonde character of course, played by Rachel Taylor formerly of Grey's Anatomy.

This go round there is an African American character as an Angel played by Annie Ngasi Illonzeh.  Because of her unique name, the boards are a buzz about finding out her cultural background.  Recently, AOL's Black Voices published she is Nigerian American.   Illonzeh was born in Grapevine, TX.  She recently vacated her role of General Hospital.

There is a Latina character, played Minka Kelly who is actually Irish and French.  Minka Kelly is engaged to famous New York Yankee Derek Jeter.   Kelly is a familiar face to Friday Night Lights fans.

We can not forget about Bosley.  Even Bosley has changed ethnicities.  This happened in the last Charlie's Angel movie with Bernie Mac.  Now Ramon Rodriguez, a Puerto Rican who later moved to later east side of Manhattan.  Folks may recognize him from The Wire or Daybreak.

The Charlie's Angels are multi-cultural since the day they were created. It makes the show very good because it doesn't alienate any race.
