El Katracho comes across as you neighborhood eatery. What makes it special is that it serves Honduran cuisine. I dined with Chef Jay Bonilla of Honduras and he told me stories of the cuisine as asked for a Honduran comfort food recomendation. His suggestion were the very affordable Baleadas starting at $2.50 each the prices escalate a bit depending on the contents. Also a popular beer in Honduras is "Salva Vida." This beer choice is on hand.
An American looking at the menu might be taken at the price of soup but soup isn't just a simple starter in Honduras, it is a star menu item. As for my baleada, the meat flavor and scent was not to my liking so I pushed it aside. I enjoyed the rest of the contents of meat and cheese.
