Soulful singer Justin Drew Bieber is a Canadian pop/R&B singer who is of French and German descent. Bieber is able to understand some French but can't speak the language fluently. He was raised by his single mother, Pattie Mallette and is able to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet.

Americans Promoting Study Abroad (APSA) develops programs designed to prepare young Americans for life and work in the 21st century. APSA's core summer program brings deserving public high school students on full scholarship from seven US cities to study in Beijing. The program focuses on language acquisition, cultural understanding, leadership development, and exposure to international careers.

The Wannabes is a kids and family comedy airing in 92 countries on several networks. Filmed in Detroit, Michigan, the show is the brain-child of writer/producer Doreen Spicer-Dannelly and follows the exploits of fame-seeking teens played by real life stars, Savvy. The Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be hosting an informational session for their annual Precious Pearls Cotillion Program on October 29, 2011 at the Northwest Hospital Education Center. The chief aim of the program is to serve as a mentoring and enrichment initiative for high school juniors and seniors.

  The holiday season is here. It’s a time to celebrate with family and friends, make new memories. Unfortunately, it’s also a time for teens to drink and put their lives in danger. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that the daily death toll from drunk driving crashes during the Christmas and New Year’s Day holiday periods is significantly more than for the rest of the year. Teen drinkers are mostly involved in these tragedies, which makes under aged drinking prevention much more critical during the holidays. Every year, about 5,000 people under the age 21 die from alcohol-related injuries.

My freshman year of college, I had it all figured out. I was going to go to Spain to study abroad, and never come back. Maybe never coming back was part fabrication, but going out of the country was the truth that I had always wanted to make my reality.

Booklets and study abroad brochures later, I made the decision that I would go out of the country before my senior year, but one factor seemed to be lurking in the shadows of that dream: money. As a college student, I knew that money was a deciding factor in so many of the things that I did, but this time I didn’t want money to make that decision for me.

Highland Hall Waldorf School has an elective called handbell choir.  The interest in the instrument is shared by girls and boys at the school.  The males typically play the larger handbells. One of the students at the school mentions that she finds in her application process for college, some of the "fancy" schools like Brown University seem to have handbell choirs.
