On April 28–29, 2012, at The International Culinary Center in New York City, passionate food-lovers will enjoy an intimate weekend of hands-on master classes, cooking and conversation with more than 30 of the culinary industry's most respected talents.

This traditional Jewish holiday is commenced with the Passover Seder. Seder is Hebrew for order. The Passover Seder is a ritual feast often celebrated by members of the same community or family. Slavery and freedom are the themes of the Seder. Jewish people all over the world pause to commemorate the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. In performing all their rituals, special blessings, and unique Passover songs, Seder participants use the ancient text of the Haggadah.

The Houston Festival Foundation Inc. is presenting IFest, (also called the Houston International Festival) on the weekends of April 21-22 and April 28-29 with the festival's opening ceremonies on April 20th from 11am-2pm. The opening ceremony, which is hosted by representatives from many of the festival's major media partners, will include a children's parade provided by the Sister Cities of Houston, remarks from the mayor of Houston, and a performance celebrating the culture of the 2012 honored country, Argentina.

 IFest celebrates diversity and encourages the promotion of different cultures to make the future generation global citizens. That's a hefty goal, but at least you get to eat lots of international food and enjoy some music and art along the way.

One of the most important religious celebrations in Latin America is Holy Week, known as Semana Santa. Downtown L.A. was buzzing with the sights and sounds of talented designers, artists and vendors from across the greater Los Angeles area at the UNIQUE LA design and gift show.  In its second year running, founder Sonja Rasula has been able to gather over 300 hand-picked and curated independent vendors to showcase goods Made in the USA and available locally for purchase.  The show attracted over 3000 people each day and featured vendors that sell original items such as stationery, jewelry, handbags and t-shirts.
