Every year for the last four years, I hold an annual women's garden party event a week before Easter.  In the last three years it has been held at my church but this time three really special things happened.  We encouraged the 70 women who attended the event to bring bags full of women's toiletries for homeless women.  The event garned 75 bags and cash donations.

We also had male youth volunteers help in the kitchen under the guidance of MCCN's Chef Jay Bonilla.  He did not cook for the event because finger sandwiches and desserts were brought by hostesses.  However, he focused and taught the art of presentation.  Furthermore, instructed the boys on how to serve.  Recently, the video of Chef Bonilla's taking the time to mentor kids was posted on the Univision website.   -Crystal Johnson, MCCN Editor
