Somewhere along the last quarter of the film it becomes interesting, entertaining and exciting. One could argue that the story was building but the literal explosion in the beginning of the film has less impact than the series of explosions near the end.
Like a good Sherlock Holmes story, there are plenty of twists. Like a typical macho Guy Ritchie film he finds plenty of places to insert homosexual innuendo. The more things change, the more they stay the same in some regards.
Bottom Line: There is enough witty dialogue, good acting and beautiful cinematography to take a crack at seeing the ole boys for a third film. However, the sequel in this series simply gets going too late.
Grade: B-
The Food: Have a sampling of European cuisine to represent the all the places travel in this film including England, France, Germany and Switzerland. Take notice of how much occurs in this film. Finish off the evening with hot tea, a beverage consumed often throughout the movie.

Watson for another caper. This go round, the film has a slower pace. One can't help but compare the first Guy Ritchie production to the latest. Everything about the original film in the series was fresh and shocking but not so much this time.
