The movie is as Americana as apple pie, from the typical small town setting to the dreaming big and reaching for the stars, while bursting into a spontaneous song. This movie is about the journey of a human couple and many muppets, and how they all collide and combine, and become a one big happy family. Walter is the biggest muppets fan and when he finds out that The Muppets studio in Los Angeles will become the biggest oil source this side of the coast, he goes on a journey all around the world to gather the Muppets for one last studio-saving show. Walter with his brother Gary (Jason Segel), Garys' girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams), and Walter's Muppet "Hero", Kermit, travel far and wide (and by map) to build one great cast of characters and one star-studded show (and film too). As expected the muppets put on a great show, with great many twists in the end. So don't even think you have this one all figured out.
Whoppie Goldberg, Danny Glover, Sarah Silverman, and more (let's keep a few of them a surprise), add some more glitz to the already glamorous cast and production. Kudos to Jason Segel for a great script, and to both Jason and Amy Adams for keeping up with the veteran muppet crew with great comedic timing and entertaining musical skills, thanks for holding your own notes and making us tap our shoes once, twice, or many times too.
The Food: As clear the message is Thanksgiving's in this movie it is indeed perfect go with a holiday menu but let's change it up, with as much flair and pizzaz as Ms Piggy and the rest of the diverse cast of characters. You'll know what this writer's talkin about when the recommendation is for an international Thanksgiving. Change up that casserole dish to Greek Moussaka, rub that bird with some Asian spices, or switch up that apple pie with a great Apple Tarte Tatin. However, the greatest recipe is family, and the best ingredient for that is love (pardon the cheesy).
