There is a reason Monsoon Wedding is a classic. The film is filled with drama, vibrant color, passion and deceit. The 2001 film directed by Mira Nair and written by Sabrina Dhawan depicts romantic entanglements during a traditional Punjabi wedding in Delhi. Filled with engaging characters and twists and turns Monsoon Wedding is fun movie night pick.
For those non-native to India or linked by heritage consider this movie about a wedding as an invitation to a four day event wrapped up in less than 2 hours viewing time.
Monsoon Wedding is the kind of film that even though it is some years old you don't want to be a spoiler about any of the film for those who have not seen it.
The Food: For your get together purchase or make pakoras which are mentioned at the very beginning of the movie. Pakoras are an appetizer.
