Film and Foodie Review: Thor

The Film: Thor is an entertaining film but it does not have the wow factor.  I was bored at times. The Thor fan who went with me to see the film fell asleep for a good 20 minutes.

What the film has going for it a great family dynamic involving sibling rivalry,  friendship among the warriors, and an endearing love at first sight story. And then Chris Hemsworth is  not only easy on the eyes but a good actor too.  He and Natalie Portman have believable chemistry.  Much of the supporting cast were very likeable especially Idris Elba as Loki an Tom Hiddleston as Loki.    I would see a sequel but I would hope for more.

The Shield is more prominent in this film but it will come across to insiders that this film is heavier promotion for highly anticipated, The Avengers.

The Food:  We suggest two options for dining either the buffet or a diner.  There were constant scenes in a diner and in one scene there was a sign promoting a $4.99 all you can eat buffet. Not exactly fancy food but in the story telling the director tries to drive the point of Thor and his team being rather ravenous sorts with large appetites.
