The Tokyo Marathon is one of Japan's most popular road races and one of the largest city marathons in Asia.  Although the Tokyo Marathon is still developing as an event and has a shorter history than the world's great marathons in London, Berlin, New York City, Chicago and Boston, it has been recognized since 2010 as a Gold Level marathon by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).  Tokyo Marathon's reputation continues to grow and the number of applicants is rising steadily with an oversubscription rate of 9.6.

Thursday, August 4th through Sunday, August 7th, daily from noon to 10pm, the worlds of culinary art and music collide for four days of fun at the Belfast Taste and Music Festival. The festival takes place on the Great Lawn of  Belfast's Botanic Gardens. The Botanic Gardens was established back in the 1820's and boasts rose gardens and rare oaks. It has been a public park and popular meeting place for all of Belfast to enjoy since 1895. Given the garden's endearing history and landmark status, what better place to parade some of Northern Ireland's best chefs? And what better place for foodies to enjoy a boulevard of restaurants featuring some of Northern Ireland's top chefs' finest culinary creations.

Every First Friday of the Month at Front and Third / Market and Vine Streets, galleries are open to the public for open houses (galleries include Clay Studio, the Temple Gallery, Nexus, Highwire, Muse and Third Street Gallery; and collaborative Space 1026.

Taste banana breads, cakes, pies, ice cream, muffins, puddings, cookies, shakes, fritters, and soups, plus fried plantains. See artwork, costumes, trinkets, live performances, and much more. The 17th Annual Long Beach Crawfish Festival serves mouth-watering Cajun Crawfish dinners! Delicious Louisiana-style crawfish prepared to spicy perfection by chefs from Bristol Farms in the world's largest crawfish steamers.

The Dominican Day Parade in New York City started in 1982 as a small celebration with concerts and cultural events in Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Organized by Dominican American community leaders, the parade which is held annually each August on Sixth Avenue, has grown to become a showcase of national pride with thousands of participants and spectators. Similar parades, but of lesser scale, are held every year in Paterson, New Jersey, Boston, and along the Grand Concourse in The Bronx.

With cooking demonstrations and 100 vendors/exhibitor the Veggie fest is th place to be.  The admission is free and it takes place on August 7 & 8, 2010
