Topanga Canyon, CA: Shakespeare Plays

TOPANGA, CA –One of the best outdoor excursions of summer is watching a Shakespeare play at the Theatricum Botanicum. It's the battle of the sexes this summer when Theatricum Botanicum pairs two of the Bard's most foolishly romantic plays. Kicking off Theatricum's six-play repertory season during the first weekend of June, artistic director Ellen Geer directs The Merry Wives of Windsor, opening on Saturday, June 4 at 8 pm. The next afternoon, Theatricum's one-of-a-kind, signature production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, helmed by Melora Marshall, opens on Sunday, June 5 at 3:30 pm. Both plays will continue throughout the summer in the Theatricum's 299-seat outdoor amphitheater, carved into the Topanga Canyon hillside.

Palms Springs Restaurant Week

Restaurant Week is a culinary celebration featuring restaurants from the entire valley from Palm Springs to Indio. Participating restaurants are offering 3 Course Menu at the fixed price of $24 or $36 per person.  Of course tax, gratuity are not included in the price.

Here at the Multi Cultural Cooking Network, it's all about food and culture, and you can't get more American than a diner. Yes, there are diners, far and wide across the United States, but there are probably not many that sport a 1950's yellow Mercury on its roof. Alas, Mechanicsville, Maryland is home to Bert's 50's Diner, a little pocket of retro-dining, where Elvis is still "The King", old cars are as American as apple pie, and the jukebox reigns supreme. Celebrating 25 years on June 25, 2010, Bert's has become more than just a retro-themed diner with good food. It has been given the status of a landmark in the historic St. Mary's county.
