Cuisine Noir-The Bay Area's popular summer festival season kicks-off May 21-22 in the diverse culinary mecca of downtown Mountain View as food and wine lovers flock to Silicon Valley's epicenter for the 15th annual A La Carte & Art gourmet extravaganza.
Playing at the Raven Playhouse is a production presented by the Celtic Arts Center, The Au Pair Man. Technically it is a comedy. Although there are some rather suspenseful and dark tones. It is an enchanting story of a high class English Woman and an Irishman with aspirations of high society. Director Joe Praml describes the play this way "...one level a bitter parable between the enmity between Ireland and England is dark, sometimes foreboding..." The two actors in the two hour long production are Virginia Morris and Joe Corgan.
The Second Annual Brothers Who Can Cook event will take place on Saturday, May 7th 2011. The taster event will kick off at the Forest Park Golf Course’s Rawlings-Fulton Clubhouse and will feature over 50 certified chefs.

Held annually on the third Sunday in May, the Preakness Stakes is Baltimore, Maryland's most popular sporting event. Nicknamed "The Run for the Black Eyed-Susans," the race was first held in the spring of 1873. Former Maryland Governor Oden Bowie named the race in honor of a colt named Preakness. The young horse had won the Dinner Party Stakes on the day the Pimilco Race Track first opened (October 24, 1870).
