The festival encompasses six blocks of downtown DC, and boy-oh-boy is there a lot to see and do! There will be anime and manga, taiko, drums, samuai swordsmen, ikebana and bonsai, karate, judo, sumo, alkido, sudoko and anything and everything Japanese!
Live performances will occur on five stages including five groups from Japan and Japanese performers from New York City. And you don't want to miss the various market places selling traditional Japanese products, pop music, fashion, drinks and snacks.
The wonderful thing about the Sakura Matsuri festival is its perfect timing — you can come straight from the National Cherry Blossom Parade and Street Festival (10am to noon), and you won't have to miss a thing.
