Colors are very important when it comes to creating your invites. I recommend Silver and Royal blue for Christmas, Brown and Gold for Hanukkah, silver and black for New Year's and for Kwanza an African print. I decided on these colors because I feel that they are unique. Each color gives me a different feeling and to me that is my personal touch. Silver and Royal blue goes great together it stands out and reminds me of elegance. Brown and Gold reminds me of one of my favorite seasons Fall. Silver and Black reminds me of the little black dress and silver shoes that I will be wearing to my New Years party and the African print makes me feel closer to my sisters' hood. These are all the things that I keep in mind when being creative with my invites. Decided on what the colors that you choose mean to you and that should help you show your creativity.
When writing your invite makes sure that you include a full description explaining how you expect your guest to be prepared for your event. You do not want your guest to feel under or overly prepared for your event, it could jeopardize the attendees for your future gatherings.
R S V P's are really important because it gives you a chance to prepare for your event. I feel that contacting your possible guest by phone will allow you the opportunity to get a feel on if that guest will be able to attend or not. By showing these different features in your invites it will show your guest that you put in the time and afford to get your point across.
