MCCN tips a Yankee hat in memory of the former New Yorker Yankee Owner George Steinbrenner who died today at age 80.  For as long, I can remember there has Steinbrenner and the Yankees.  The business man bought the team in 1973 and soon after the team had its glory days of championships back during the 70's where legends such as Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter and Lou Pinella were born.

Never known to be a quiet owner, Steinbrenner came to be a star.  Under his owner the Yankees have won seven World series and 11 penant winners. Steinnbrenner went out with the Yankees on top.  They won the World series in 2009.  His last appearance public appearance at the new Yankee stadium was at the home opener. - written by MCCN Editor Crystal Johnson, New Yorker
