The prices are very reasonable for a more than ample lunch plate. I sprung for a meal for three with a total of approximately $23.00, no tip to leave because it is an order at the counter joint. One dining companion had brown stew chicken, a side of cabbage and rice and peas for about $5.99 lunch special. The other ordered the pulled pork sandwich with two sides(coleslaw and French fries), priced at about $9.00. As for me, I ordered the curry chicken lunch special. The owner allowed us to try his award winning pork ribs, collard greens and black beans with rice. Everything was delectable. Truthfully, I wanted to switch my meal over to the tender brown stew chicken.
The collard greens cooked with smoked turkey has a rich smokey flavor. The
delicious pulled pork was marinated well and not smothered in sauce. However, barbecue and sweet chili sauce are condiment available on the tables. The ribs are smoked well enough to see its smoke ring.
The restaurant is off the beaten path for the average tourist but well worth the trip for good eats.
