The date was October 30, 1964 and Bellissimo was charged with the task of providing her son and his guests with a late night snack. Like any food invention, Buffalo Wings are the direct result of leftovers. Finding herself with an overabundance of chicken wings, Teressa fried them up and coated them in a buttered spicy chile sauce. She completed the snack with everyone’s favorite pair: celery and blue cheese.
The wings became a huge hit and according to the Anchor Bar, are the "Best Wings in the World."
